Giving to Epsom Baptist Church

Do not store up for yourself treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.  But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.  Matthew 6:19-21

We believe that God is a generous God.  He is generous to us and calls us to join him in his mission to the world.  Part of that mission is the resourcing of his local church, both in terms of our skills and gifts and also our financial resources.

We believe that tithes and offerings are an important biblical principle, and God is clear about our collective role in joyfully giving to the church.   If we all join together in this way we will create a thriving community and church.

So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7

Our Senior Minister, Mike Thornton, says:

“Giving is a blessing. We are blessed by God when we give.  We will never be poorer when we give out of a generous spirit.  We want to be a giving church here at Epsom Baptist Church.  Giving is a response of love and thanksgiving to God.   It is part of our act of worship.”

Remember the words of our Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give then to receive’ Acts 20:35

Epsom Baptist Church does not receive any external funding,.  The  church and all its activities are fully funded by the generosity of the congregation of the church.
